Public Notice of Proposed Rule Change

Our judges and the Federal Practice Committee are proposing another change to the Criminal Local Rules, which is now available for public notice and comment.

The change requires counsel in a criminal case to file a sealed witness and exhibit list by noon on the last business day before a scheduled trial. A redline version of Criminal Local Rule 26.1 is posted on the Court’s website. If you have comments or suggestions, please direct them to Matt_Thelen@sdd.uscourts.gov no later than August 28, 2026.
