SD Opinions

Pursuant to the E-Government Act of 2002, we are now providing public access to written opinions issued by our court beginning April 16, 2005.

The Judicial Conference defines "written opinion" as any document issued by a judge or judges of the court, sitting in that capacity, that sets forth a reasoned explanation for a court's decision.

Our CM/ECF system has a Written Opinions Report. Access to the opinions in the report is free.
However, accessing a docket sheet from the report will incur PACER fees of $.10 per page.
If you are a registered filing attorney, you can access the report by logging into CM/ECF - or by going through PACER.

Attorneys that are not registered CM/ECF filers can access the report only through PACER.

Attorneys not already registered with PACER will need to register for a PACER account.
On-line registration can be done through the PACER Service Center web site at: www.pacer.gov or by calling the PACER Service Center at 1-800-676-6856
