PACER Update. Now that the multifactor authentication (MFA) enrollment phase is complete, the Administrative Office (AO) is ready to start enforcing the updated password standards on all existing Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) accounts. Beginning August 17th, PACER users who have not updated their password in the last 18 months will be randomly selected to update their password to comply with the new standards. Strong passwords are essential in safeguarding systems from unauthorized access.
According to the updated standards, passwords must:
• Be 14-45 characters in length
• Contain at least 1 lowercase letter
• Contain at least 1 uppercase letter
• Contain at least 1 special character (all special characters are allowed)
• Not contain any part of your first name, last name, username, or email address
Please note that passwords must be updated every 180 days.
If your account is disabled, please contact the PACER Service Center at (800) 676-6856 or pacer@psc.uscourts.gov. The PACER Service Center hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT. Hold times for PACER can be long, so plan accordingly. The Clerk’s Office does not accept filings via email.
