Pursuant to Section 320.10 of the Guide to Judiciary Policy, we are no longer accepting credit or debit cards for payment of criminal restitution and disbursable fines.
Effective November 1, 2024:
The following methods of payment are accepted for restitution, postal fines, Lacy Act Fines, Bald Eagle/Golden Eagle Act Fines, Migratory Bird Treaty Act Fines, Wild Bird Conservation Act Fine and any interest applicable to these payments:
- Pay.gov – debit card only and ACH
- Online Bill Pay
- Check
- Money Order
- Cash
- Wire Transfer
The following methods of payment are accepted for special assessments, fines, penalty payments:

For Pay.gov, click on the Pay.gov emblem or visit Pay.gov and search for South Dakota Criminal Debt. You can make one-time payments using check or savings accounts (ACH), debit cards or Paypal. Recurring payments can be set up using ACH.
Online Bill Payment is available through most major banks. Just sign into your bank’s website and add USDC South Dakota as a biller. You can also set up recurring payments through your bank’s online bill payment system, when applicable. See instructions below.
If you pay by personal check, it will be converted to an EFT. The debit from your account will usually occur within 24 hours.

To make a debit card payment for any debt other than those listed above, call the Clerk of Court at 605-330-6600.
Please be advised that any returned payment is subject to a $53 fee.
