WI-FI Access in the District of South Dakota

We are pleased to announce that we can now provide WI-FI access to lawyers and their staff in the Rapid City and Sioux Falls Courthouses. The access in Sioux Falls and Rapid City should provide a strong signal in and around the courtrooms and the district court and bankruptcy court clerks offices. We expect to have access in the Pierre courthouse by the end of June and in Aberdeen by the end of the summer.

The access in Pierre should provide a strong signal in and around the main courtroom, the bankruptcy courtroom and the district court and bankruptcy court clerks offices. In Aberdeen the access should provide a strong signal anywhere on the main courtroom floor. The wireless network in all courthouses will display as public_ga with the district wide password being changed each week. The password will be available in the district court clerks offices in Sioux Falls, Rapid City and Pierre.

When the system goes live in Aberdeen please call one of these clerks offices and not the judges chambers. The availability of WI-FI access is not meant to imply that you may use a wireless device in the courtrooms. If you wish to access the system in the courtrooms you must have the advance permission of the judge who is presiding over the proceeding.
